PIERRE, S.D.–Dylan Clarkson, Pioneer Bank & Trust, Spearfish, has assumed the role of Chair for the South Dakota Bankers Association (SDBA), the professional and trade association for South Dakota’s financial services industry.
Clarkson is President and CEO of Pioneer Bank & Trust in Spearfish, SD. He has served on the SDBA Board of Directors since 2018. He graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT in 1997 with a degree in economics. While in Montana, Clarkson ran a car dealership for nine years and worked his way up to the position of general manager at Dick Walter Audi. He then spent ten years in multiple departments at American Bank, ending with the position of Bozeman Area Market Manager.
After nineteen years outside of the family business, Clarkson was named President and CEO of Pioneer Bank & Trust in Spearfish, where he is a 4th generation banker. Pioneer Bank & Trust is a 1 billion-dollar and growing financial institution, a leader in the South Dakota Banking Industry, and has been owned by the Clarkson family for over 110 years.
Clarkson serves as chairperson for the Community Depository Institution Advisory Council with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis 9th District, council member of the National community Depository Institution Advisory Council, board member of the Banker Advisory Board with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, chairperson of the board of directors with OneHeart Rapid City, and is a member of the Bank CEO Network.
Clarkson and his wife, Nicki, have two young children; Ben and Elyse. They enjoy every day in South Dakota and spend as much time together outside as a family enjoying and discovering everything that our great region has to offer. Many days are spent hiking, skiing, fly fishing, and generally exploring the Black Hills area.
